Keep the original scoped to your account.
The browser uploads directly to a short-lived, private object URL. Jobs accept PDF and XLSX files up to the plan limit and the original is scheduled to expire.
Remove only the values you named.
Enter the exact email addresses, phone numbers, names, identifiers, or other strings that must disappear. Spreadsheet formulas require separate approval instead of silent modification.
Change the document content itself.
PDF content streams and spreadsheet cells are rewritten rather than covered by a visual overlay. The result is saved as a new sanitized file.
Reopen the result before download.
Shield extracts the generated output again and checks for every approved value. The job report records what was removed and whether verification passed.

Which formats are supported?
Permanent file cleanup currently supports PDF and XLSX. Governance scanning additionally accepts EML, TXT, PNG, JPG, and JPEG.
Can I choose the exact values?
Yes. The removal job starts only after at least one exact value is supplied.
Will the original and clean file be confused?
No. Shield creates a separate sanitized output and exposes it through an expiring download URL.
